Elderly Home Care

Providing Elderly Care at Home

Our home care service aims to promote independence at home. From assisting in rehabilitation to helping with mealtimes, call us to discuss how we can help.

Promoting independence at home

At Moorcare we really feel it’s essential to promote an individuals independence. So we are proud to offer our Elderly home care support.

Nobody wants to feel a burden on anyone and accepting help can be really hard. We ensure that we add to your abilities rather than take over.

That’s why before any home care support starts we find out what you want help, what you still want to manage for yourself because you can. There is no one size fits all service.

Elderly Home Care Support

Moorcare Devon offers a range of support via our home care service from helping with breakfast to assisting in your rehabilitation, just call us to discuss how we can help

Personal care

Personal care is exactly that, personal. We understand that at Moorcare and believe that customers need to feel 100 %. Comfortable.

What is personal care? It’s can be anything from assistance together ready in the morning, choosing what to wear, help with getting breakfast. Every body has different needs and we will ensure that your needs are met in the time spent you with your carer.

We do this by having an informal chat before any care starts , this is the where you can discuss exactly what you want help with.

We understand at Moorcare that deciding to accept help can be very difficult, we are sensitive to this.

Medications

All those tiny pills can be difficult to handle let alone see as they all look the same! We can help make your life easier by prompting, reminding and making medications available that have been prescribed by your doctor.

We can help by picking items up from the pharmacy, dropping off repeat prescriptions, help you make sure for you that medication are the right ones.

Rehabilitation

Rehabilitation, getting back on you feet.

If you or loved one have had a period of ill health or perhaps are recent operation that finds you looking for help around the home.

Our carers can help you get back on you feet, by helping you with everyday tasks that get easier as you feel better.

Dementia care – What is it? How can Homecare help?

Living with or caring for-someone who has dementia can be really challenging.

Moorcare can help elevate and support you during this time throughout this time . Having someone to care for your loved one by helping with everyday tasks or perhaps spending time with the person can be a life saver.

It gives you respite when you need it most and support from carers who are trained in dementia care.

All our carers are trained in dementia care by either Jane or Isla . Both hold a professional teaching qualification and have between them 40 years of caring for people with dementia.

Groceries and shopping

Ours carers can help you with your weekly shopping. Supermarkets are forever moving things into different aisles, which can be maddening.

We can help by reaching high or low items that are a pain to get , loading shopping at the till and then unpacking at the other end at home.

We know the internet has replaced many shopping tasks but it’s still nice to go out and about, see what’s on offer, bump into friends in the supermarket as before.

Helping getting out and about

We can help you get to appointments, the bank, walk the

dog or just out for coffee. Any thing you like.

Companionship

Companionship is “ a feeling of fellowship or friendship “

Our service is all about this. You don’t buy companionship, it’s a positive outcome something that happens when along side the practical tasks , yes these are happening but in the back ground along side you have companionship.
