What is Homecare?
Home care is help and support you receive in your own home. Home care can be every anything from helping you to get up in the morning help with washing how jobs on house help out about.

You can make home care out of your own money or if you have eligible needs social services will fund your care home.

How can I pay for my services?

Social services or Devon county council funding care at home the people who have eligible care needs. To find out if this applies to you you will need to contact care direct plus on 0345 155 1007.

If this does not apply to you you will need to fund your own care services yourself.

Will I get the same carer all the time?

Due to carers needing holiday, Time off whilst unwell and general days off it is not possible to give you one person all the time. However we do ensure that the care team looking after you or your loved one know you well, and that you know each member of the team.

Do you employ your cares directly?

Yes we employ all our own carers. We carry out our own recruitment and reference checking. We do not use bank staff or employment agencies

What checks to carry out before you employ people?
Before we employ a person they have to come for a face-to-face interview. If we think that person embodies the values of the company and has the right attitude for care only then will we proceed forward. We check everybody’s employment history going back 10 years, every person has an enhanced CRB cheque, and their references checked verbally as well as followed up with written ones.

What is supported living?

Typically, supported living offers ‘group living’ which provides a combination of privacy and companionship andenables you to maintain a feeling of independence whilst being in the 
company of others. Supported Living is co-shared housing where you will have your own private 
bedroom area (and often en-suite) plus shared areas including lounge, dining room, conservatory, gardens etc.

How can I afford supported living?

The costs of Supported living are completely transparent offering real value for money, as each of the three elements described are costed and tailored around your needs  as well as the property you choose to live in. All of this means that (in most cases) your personal budget will cover the costs so that no top-up fees are required to cover any shortfall.
